April 13, 2025 – Geely Auto was formally awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award during the IATF International Conference hosted at the Geely Research Institute in Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo. During the conference, Geely Auto engaged with representatives from ANFIA, CCFA, FIEV, VDA, AIAG, Ford and other members focusing on global automotive quality evaluation standards and other practical achievements. Attendees also visited the Geely Research Institute, Geely Powertrain Research Institute (GPRI), and various manufacturing bases gaining a first-hand insight into Geely’s innovative operations. Representatives expressed high praise for Geely’s intelligent new energy products for its quality and innovations.

IATF (International Automotive Task Force), is a global standardization organization in the auto industry, that is always been committed to improving the industry’s quality management system, providing strong support and guidance for the high-quality development of the industry. Geely officially joined the IATF in 2021 and obtained the official license from the IATF Board of Directors in November 2023. It is the 10th member and the first Asian member of the IATF International Automotive Task Force, setting international quality standards with other auto group members. As of the end of 2024, Geely has led and participated in the formulation of 682 international-wide and industry-wide standards and has published 436 standards.

As an industry pioneer of globalization, intelligence and electrification of the automobile industry, Geely Auto, will actively participate in the formulation of international quality standards. For example, it initiated and promoted the establishment of IAQSA, the International Automotive Quality Standardization Association; actively participated in the development and discussion of relevant international standards; and pushed for the revamping of the IATF16949 standard to cope with the changes of the new four automotive standards. In 2023, Geely participated in the revision of the global IATF16949 standard. It revised the concept of establishing the maturity level of the whole process competitiveness quality management system, the management diagnosis method, and network and data security.

During its 27 years of vehicle manufacturing, Geely has gained many achievements in ensuring value and quality in the vehicle’s lifecycle, including product safety, failure rate per thousand vehicles, value retention rate, user satisfaction, sales and service satisfaction, etc. It has created an automotive industry quality management theory – Geely Total Process Competitiveness Quality Management System – to adapt to the requirements of the new era of development. In terms of quality management, Geely’s quality system and management level have been recognized by authoritative organizations in the industry. Meanwhile, 12 Geely manufacturing bases have obtained IATF 16949 quality management system certification, and 10 laboratories have obtained CNAS accreditation.
